Uniform Policy

Please can I ask that you spend a few minutes reminding your child(ren) of the details of our Uniform Policy. In particular, please remind them that coats must not be worn in the school building.

Pupils may either carry them, or put them in their bags or lockers. A number of parents have contacted us this week, given the very cold spell of weather we are experiencing, for clarification on this matter. I can assure you that inside the building the central heating is working efficiently and the environment is warm.

In relation to jewellery, our Policy is very clear on our expectations that:

only stud earrings are allowed;
rings are not allowed;

we do not recommend nose piercings, but if worn they must be a discrete stud;

no other facial piercings are allowed.

Thank you for your support with helping to ensure our expectations around uniform are met. If you would like further details please click here to view our full Uniform Policy, or visit our website.

Netball Success

I am delighted to be able to share news of a great win for our Under 16 Netball team who secured a decisive 32-25 win against Chelmsford County High on Wednesday afternoon. This means they are now through to the Quarter Finals which will be played at home. Congratulations girls, what a team!

Essex County Council – Vaping Research Project

Essex County Council’s Public Health Team has published its Essex Youth Vaping Report, with related supporting documents, based on its 2023 vaping research project. This supports their work to reduce usage and prevent uptake of vaping about children and young people in Essex.

The Report provides insights from the project, conducted to understand more about children and young people’s vaping in Essex. The Report includes information on:

  • the scale of youth vaping and the culture, experiences and activities around it.
  • levels of knowledge and awareness around vaping, including impact on health.
  • the messages and communication routes that would be best responded to
  • what might work to change youth vaping behaviours.

Please click to access the Report and/or copies of Essex’s “You Said, We Did” documents.

Matilda the Musical!

I am excited to announce that this year we will be running our first school production for many, many years. Some of you may remember that we were midway through preparing to a performance of “School of Rock” when COVID 19 struck and so we were thrown into periods of school closure. This year we will be performing “Matilda the Musical” and our pupils and staff have been working really hard to ensure its success. This promises to be an uplifting and entertaining show and it would be lovely to see as many parents/carers and supporters at one of the performance which will be held on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th March. Doors will open at 6.00pm, with the show running from 6.30 pm – 7.30 pm. Ticket will go on sale shortly.

LOST PROPERTY

We have a large number of coats and jumpers in lost property, without names. If your child has lost theirs, please ask them to pop to Pupil Services. We will be disposing of unclaimed items the Friday after half-term.

Thank you in advance.
